Podcast 49 – We’re back! Next-gen is here… and so is the Wii mini.

Hey everybody! We’re back after a bit of a break and ready for the next-gen! This time around, Willie scares everyone with his Pikmin Halloween costume, Will scares everyone with his lack of Mexican-ness, and Nintendo scares everyone by bringing the Wii mini to the USA for the holiday season. But of course, we talk next-gen and how everything will play out! Thanks for listening to another episode of the 8 Bit Awesome podcast!

And seriously, we promise we’re back in full force from here on out. Maybe one day, we’ll release a DVD with the lost episodes 46, 47, and 48. Keep an eye out on Amazon for that in 2015!

Podcast 45 – GTA V breaks records, SEGA buys Atlus, and Apple launches iOS 7!

This week, we talk about the craziness that is Rockstar Games selling $800 million worth of a single game (two SKUs, but who’s counting) within a single day. There’s also some interesting chat that SEGA bought Atlus and their entire portfolio of games, not to mention Nintendo giving away free copies of Wii Fit U to everyone … sort of. We round out the show with our review of iOS 7 on the latest 8 Bit Awesome podcast!

Podcast 44 – Vita price drop, PlayStation Vita TV, and NEW iPhones!

This week, we talk about the craziness that is the announcement of the iPhone 5s and 5c, or as some people call it: the next piece of glass and metal people will line up for hours for. There’s also some interesting hardware coming out of Sony in the form of a micro-console that only plays PlayStation Vita and PSN games, but hooks directly to your TV. We also chat about the PS Vita’s price drop that has finally hit shelves. Thanks for joining us for another 8 Bit Awesome Podcast!

Podcast 43 – Nintendo 2DS and Wii U price drop

This week we talk about the crazy fever dream that is the Nintendo 2DS. We have a lot to say about the new, budget Nintendo handheld — from its design, to its price, to its target market, we discuss everything. Next, Nintendo’s home console got a much needed price drop for the holidays, but will it be enough to prevent the Wii U from being a failure? We round out the podcast with some discussion about Platinum games and finish up with our quickest Versus segment ever. Thanks for joining us for another 8Bit Awesome Podcast

Podcast 42 – Splinter Cell: Blacklist, PS4 and Xbox One release dates, and more!

This week on the 8 Bit Awesome Podcast, Willie is back, so we can’t make fun of him anymore (but we do anyway)! We chat about Sony’s presence at Gamescom and the announcement of a PS4 release date, while we theorize why Microsoft didn’t let the cat out of the bag for when we’ll be seeing the Xbox One. Chris gives an odd review of Splinter Cell: Blacklist, calling it amazing and awesome, but his second least-favourite in the series, whatever that means. We also chat about The Killer is Dead, and hit on some more about The Wonderful 101. Thanks for tuning in to another edition of the 8 Bit Awesome Podcast!

Podcast 41 – More Microsoft reversals (Kinect not required) and Pokémon vs. Tekken?

This week on the 8 Bit Awesome Podcast, Willie is gone, so Chris and I take the helm (and make fun of Willie a fair amount, too).  We start off with a plethora of Pokémon news from the Pokemon Game Show in Japan, where a trailer showed off a potential Pokemon fighting game. Then we move on to another Microsoft reversal, where they revealed that the Kinect would not need to be plugged in for the Xbox One to function. Finally, we touch upon the reviews for The Wonderful 101 and Disney Infinity and  finish up with a GBA SP/ GBA versus segment. Be sure to also take a look at Chris’ glowing review of the Pokémon Travel series posters from Little Pixel Posters!

Podcast 40 – Pokémon gets mega evolved, Saints Row IV, and another 8 Bit Awesome VERSUS!

This week on the 8 Bit Awesome podcast, we talk even more about Pokémon as we get more and more news about Mega Evolutions in the upcoming Pokémon X and Y. Deep Silver also announced an ungodly million-dollar edition of Saints Row IV, and no one is quite sure if it’s a joke or not. Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 also got leaked this week, though by leaked, we really mean FAKED. Too bad Willie and Will really fell for that one, and you can hear their hearts break as I prove it to them. Oh, and our second round of the 8 Bit Awesome VERSUS goes down with our favourite handheld Zelda titles! Thanks for listening to another episode of the 8 Bit Awesome Podcast and let us know what you’d like to see on the next podcast by leaving a comment below!

Podcast 39 – Xbox One specs, (the lack of) Wii U sales, and Pikmin 3 is finally here!

This week on the 8 Bit Awesome podcast, we muse about Nintendo’s space in the gaming industry as the Wii U sold a paltry 160,000 units over a three month period. Worldwide. No, really. Microsoft also bumped the specs of its Xbox One due out later this year, though not by much. We then spend an ungodly amount of time talking about Pikmin 3 as Christopher is sad that he can no longer make fun of Willie for the game not coming out. Thanks for listening to another episode of the 8 Bit Awesome Podcast and let us know what you’d like to see on the next podcast by leaving a comment below!
