This week we had an such an insane amount of news to discuss that we talked for almost an hour and a half (make sure to set those podcatcher apps to 1.5 speed!) We quickly dive into Disney Infinity, Disney’s new take on Skylanders, a video game that integrates toys with video game through NFC. We then discuss Project Rainfall and Pandora’s Tower finally being localized by XSeed. We also touch on our expectations for the next Super Smash Bros. Finally we break down Nintendo Sony and Xbox’s first quarter release schedule, more specifically diving into the lack of Wii U support and insane release schedule for 3ds, PS3 and XBox360. Somehow Willie and Chris even manage to slip in more Epic Mickey talk (36:30-41:30 for those of you who want to skip us talking about the most boring game of all time). Thanks for tuning in, and catch more awesome talk next week on 8bitawesome!
This week we lose any semblance of organization or normalcy, and quickly dive into what games we’ve been playing, nostalgia for retro games and their glitches, and finally have the first in hopefully many segments about hot gamer girls. This episode devolves pretty quickly into a complete clusterfuck, but hopefully you enjoy our shenanigans as much as we did. It’s a particularly funny episode, and we hope you like it! Join us again next week for another great episode of 8Bit Awesome!
This week, there was so much to talk about, that we had to chop out a third of our itinerary (Yes… we actually had an itinerary! We don’t just ramble, even though it may seem like it). We quickly dive into Microsoft and Sony acquisitions, specifically Sony’s purchase of a streaming company, and Microsoft’s investment in R2 Studios, a home automation company. We also finally get to talk about one of our favorite franchises, Pokemon. We speculate about their upcoming Tuesday, December 8th announcement, and discuss what GameFreak’s next game could possibly be (Pokemon Snap Wii U, Pokemon MMO, or just Gen VI on the 3DS? Or could we possible get Wii U/3DS cross-play, just like the upcoming Super Smash Bros. title?) Thanks for joining us for another beautiful episode, see you next week!
This week, we discuss the bounties of Christmas — Will discusses his time with Assassin’s Creed 3 on the Wii U and Willie walks us through his first few hours of Zombi U and explains everything about his new Western Digital cloud drive. Finally Chris gives us a timely review of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (It finally made it to Canada! And now Chris can play it on the amazing Wii Mini!) We also talk about what games we are looking forward to in 2013 as well as the prospects of using the Wii U as a media playing device. Thanks for joining us for another episode of 8Bit Awesome!
This week we talk about the award-winning game Journey, Nintendo TVii, and we finalize our wagers about next-gen launches. Willie slips in more Epic Mickey discussion (don’t worry its quick) — spoiler alert, it’s still not worth playing. Finally we get into Nintendo TVii and surprisingly, its awesome! iTV and Nintendo have done it, although Netflix and DVR support is still lacking. Check in next week for even more discussion on everything awesome!
It’s our third week of podcasting, and our fourth episode, (check out our Hobbit podcast if you haven’t yet — it’s especially good because there aren’t any Canadians on it) and we finally discuss the possibilities of next-gen consoles in 2013. We also discuss Wii U developer support ( or lack thereof) for 2013 and beyond. Finally, we nostalgically and tearfully talk about the last issue of Nintendo Power. And, of course, Chris continues to shamelessly plug his website (ugh… fine. It’s eggplante.com) and somehow even slips in some Wii mini talk. Check in next week for our official wagers on when we think the PS4 and Xbox720 will be announced and released.
Willie and Will come to you with a special edition of our podcast to discuss or feelings about The Hobbit movie, just in time for your Hanukkah celebrations. Chris skipped out, because he hates freedom and everything LOTR (What can we say? He’s Canadian. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about.) We talk about everything from our feelings about HFR (is 48fps going to be the future of film?) to the differences between the novel and the movie, and much more. Warning, this podcast contains minor spoilers. And don’t worry, we’ll be back on Sunday with your regular dose of video game and tech talk.
Our second episode, and we finally have a name! We discuss what games have been on our radar this past week, and quickly get into the VGA’s, Phantom Pain (or is it MGS5?), the new Last of Us Trailer, Epic Mickey 2, Netflix, and Chris even uses his Canadian trickery to get us to talk about the ridiculous and poorly designed Wii mini once more (did he mention there is a contest on Eggplante.com to win one?) Join us next week for more discussion on everything awesome!

Our very first podcast is online! We discuss everything from the Wii U, to AppleTV, to Microsoft Smartglass, to even Willie’s sex life (not really, but maybe we’ll get into it in episode #2). Hosted by Chris Kalanderopoulos of Eggplante.com (Check it out, he’s not actually not half bad for a Canadian), Willie Clark of Rochester’s City Newspaper, and me, William Penney (I don’t have a fancy website). I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it. There will definitely be many more of these to come.
