Podcast 37 – Comic-Con, Club Nintendo, Indie developers, and the Royal Baby

This week, we discuss the (lack of) news from Comic-Con San Diego. We did get a BatmanSuperman mashup movie promised from Zack Snyder, though. We also chat about Club Nintendo points and the rather lame gold and platinum level gifts we get, then realize we’re whining about bad free gifts. Bad gifts are still better than no gifts, right? We end off this week chatting about indie developers as Microsoft has decided to allow self-publishing on the Xbox One, and Nintendo has been doing a good job courting indie devs to their Wii U. Thanks for listening to another episode of the 8 Bit Awesome Podcast and let us know what you’d like to see on the next podcast by leaving a comment below!

Podcast 36 – Nostalgia, New 3DS StreetPass games, and even more Pokémon

We get all nostalgic about our gamer childhoods as we look back to our favourite players guides and reminisce over why we spend so much on them. Next, Willie, Chris, and Will chat about the weirdness (and awesomeness) that are the new 3DS StreetPass games, and how you can get them. Finally, we end off with another discussion about Pokémon, because let’s face it: we love it. And if you couldn’t guess, Super Smash Bros. makes another appearance. Thanks for listening to another episode of the 8 Bit Awesome Podcast!

Podcast 35 – Nintendo region locking, more on The Last of Us, and Papier Mache?

This week was a slow news weke, during the Post-E3 video game lull, but we are all back to discuss the debate on Nintendo region locking and their response (spoiler alert: Nintendo consoles are going to stay region locked). Next, Chris and Will give their updated impressions of The Last of Us and Willie gives us a review of the 2-year-old game, Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Finally, we discuss Pokemon X and Y and the newly announced Honedge, a ghost/steel type pokemon that looks like a badass sword. Thanks for listening to another episode of the 8 Bit Awesome Podcast!

Podcast 34 – The Last of Us, New Super Luigi U, and Microsoft shake-up

This week, Willie’s gone, but Chris and I give our in depth impressions of some recent releases, namely New Super Luigi, and Naughty Dog’s new game, The Last of Us. We then discuss the shake up at Microsoft, namely Don Mattrick leaving to become Zynga’s CEO. Finally, we finish up comparing and contrasting Microsoft’s new “Games with Gold” and Playstation Plus.
